VO2 Max Testing, Nutrition & Physical Therapy Discussion
Wednesday May 16th 5:30-6:30pm
Join Wake Forest Baptist Health exercise specialist Gwen Dunlap, dietitian Annette Frain and physical therapist Chad Parker. They will discuss and demonstrate Vo2 Max testing, a fitness assessment that gets athletes to their max exertion level. Also, nutritional and physical therapy education. This test measures how fit the athlete is and how they can improve their training, whether that be for a marathon or to become more physically fit. This is ideal for athletes who have been exercising regularly for at least 3 months or more and are looking to improve. Pre-registration required; call 336-713-BEST (2378) or Register Online
Throwing Injuries for Athletes
Thursday May 17th 5:30-6:30pm
Join Wake Forest Baptist Health’s physical therapist Chad Parker to learn more about functional changes that occur and are specific to the throwing shoulder and the common injuries that are associated with these athletes. He will discuss both the traditional management of internal and post-surgical treatment in throwing athletes. The Ricky Proehl Celebrity Golf Classic

We are very pleased to announce the Ricky Proehl Celebrity Golf Classic is returning to Grandover Golf Course in Greensboro, NC on June 1st 2018.
This event benefits the Ricky Proehl P.O.W.E.R. of Play Foundation. In over 10 years, the tournament raised more than $1.5 million for North Carolina Children’s Charities. Make-A-Wish Trailblaze Challenge Meeting

Proehlific Park is excited to be partnering again with Make-A-Wish Central and Western NC on their Trailblaze Challenge event! Trailblaze is the ultimate test – a 28.3 mile hike in one life-changing day, all while raising vital funds to help our chapter grant wishes to local kids with life threatening medical conditions.
If you are interested in learning more, we are holding an information session here at Proehlific Park on Tuesday, June 5 from 6pm-8pm. It’s free to attend, and will be filled with information about the training program, event weekend experience, how to register, how to volunteer, and ways to fundraise.

Injury Prevention for the Adult Athlete
June 22nd from Noon to 1 pm
Save the Date! Dr. Jordan Case is an Wake Forest Baptist Health orthopedic surgeon fellowship trained in sports medicine. His area of expertise centers on athletic related injuries in the working professional. This presentation will discuss strategies for injury prevention in adult athletes at any level, and provide attendees the opportunity to ask any relevant questions.
